12th Annual Scholarship Extravaganza

The 12th Annual Scholarship Extravaganza will raise money to help provide scholarships to Houston area university students majoring in accounting and provide grants to local area K-12 schools. The event will be held at the Hotel ZaZa (Museum District) February 17, 2018 6:30 p.m.-11 p.m.

In 2011, Stan and Margaret Voelkel made a matching gift donation to establish a permanent Houston CPA Accounting Scholarship Endowment Fund, challenging the Society to acquire matching funds within three years. Net income from the endowment may be used to fund annual scholarships or accrued for future appropriate expenditures. This endowment inspired the Sharing the Legacy campaign to enable receipt of ongoing contributions. Funds from the Scholarship Extravaganza will allow the campaign to work toward its new goal of $2 million.
