TXCPA Houston, a chapter of the Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, was organized in 1928 and, for nearly a century, we have been a trusted professional community for CPAs in the greater Houston
area.
With nearly 7,000 members from a 13-county area*, we are the largest CPA chapter in Texas. TXCPA Houston has a reputation for action, integrity and competence as the result of the strong leadership of our volunteers.
With
various committees and an active Student Auxiliary, there are plenty of volunteer activities and opportunities for service. Community service is an activity prioritized by the leadership and members. Through TXCPA Houston's endowment and our CPAs
Helping Schools program, many schools in Houston and the surrounding counties have benefited from cash grants, mentorship, clothing drives and field trips.
Scholarships, funded by proceeds from the Scholarship Extravaganza, are granted
to students who intend to become certified public accountants in Texas, who have demonstrated financial need, superior ethics, citizenship, and high scholastic achievement on campus based on the judgment of accounting faculty at each participating
university.
As a service to the community, TXCPA Houston maintains a no-cost referral service for anyone needing the services of a CPA. This service can be accessed by calling the office (713-622-7733). Referrals are made based on the
client’s needs and the ability of a firm to meet those needs.
