Community Service
The Society provides - and participates in - a wide variety of civic activities.
CPAs Helping Schools - established in 1991, this program encourages CPAs to become actively involved with the education of the youth in Texas. Dedicated to improving the quality and scope of education, kindergarten through grade 12, this initiative provides a way for Society members to get actively involved in supporting area schools. Financial grants are provided to numerous schools where it has been identified that there is little or no significant business partnership. Grant Applications are accepted throughout the year; grants are awarded in September, January and April. Uniforms and books are collected to provide these necessary items to schools serving at-risk students. Middle school students are given a theme each year to produce entries for the annual Art and Essay Contest. Teachers may download the Invitation Letter and Response Form, Art Contest Instructions and Entry Form, and/or Essay Contest
Instructions and Entry Form and complete for their interested students. Finally, through its partnerships, CPAs Helping Schools sponsors a math or accounting fellowship for a local educator through Fund for Teachers and two student s cholarships are awarded to candidates identified through the Junior A chievement program.
